I think the PS2 has staying power because it is a tride and true tested formula console type thing that doesn't suck, really.
It's a staple.
Kinda like...blue jeans.


I think the technology by 2015 will advance significantly. Look at how much we've grown from the N64 to the Wii.
I still like to play some N64 (Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time) every once and a while, but the appeal of the playing style of the Wii is so tempting.
But yet - I don't own a Wii?
I do, however, own a N64.
This could be because I inherit my consoles from my brother, who has his way with them and then tosses them to the side like an old christmas tree.

There's going to be a substantial amount of time for the PS3 to become popular and outsell the PS2. The technology for the PS3 is so advanced, and so FREAKING cool. But nobody is ready for it. There's a limited number of games, as well. I think in a few years, the PS3 will be a hot new item that everyone wants.
They have to release a sweet game or something for it, and then everyone will flock to it and the masses will do what they are meant to do.
