Artificial Intelligence.
Interesting fact: the term was first coined by John McCarthy.
Artificial Intelligence is referred to as being the science of making and engineering intelligent machines. Research in AI is concerned with producing machines to automate tasks requiring intelligent behavior. The history of A.I starts with Alan Turing unveiling his Turing Test, which is proposed to test a machines capability to have a human like conversation and demonstrate thought. One of the most famous A.I machines is the Deep Blue chess machine. Now we have things like AIBO, the robo dog, and even more annoying - The Sims!
The future of A.I includes 40 more expansion packs for The Sims. (Maybe even Sims: AI! Robot sims everywhere!) The future of Artificial Intelligence may turn into I, Robot. But there is a demand for using A.I for security purposes even since the 9/11 attacks.

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. It is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. An RFID tag is an object that can be attached to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification using radio waves.
they use RFID's in libraries. Bison works at a library!
they want to put RFID's in our persons to keep track of us.
Not a good idea.

Okay, can I just rant here for a second?
What is the purpose of hackers? Do they just...hack things to just feel better about themselves? Why do they reap so much pleasure from making everyone else's internet experience terrible?!
Hackers boggle my mind. Honestly. These buggers who create spam mail and crap like that - what is the purpose? They barely benefit from it, either. Especially the spam mail that doesn't even have a link to click on to hack into all your personal information. The spam that sucks is the e-mails that just have random words written into it like the ones that P sometimes gets.
In the case of the man who hacked in NASA, apparently all the damages were exaggerated. I don't blame NASA, trying to milk it for all its worth, but yet when Gary goes to court, I think that kind of violates his rights to a fair trial just because NASA wants to make it sound worse than it is.

I would like to watch the whole movie, as it seems to jump around a lot but touches on all very interesting topics. From the internet, to Ted Kaczinski, to LSD, it sounds more like a giant conspiracy movie than anything. But I wouldn't be able to say offically because i haven't seen the whole thing.
I'm not saying that I doubt the information given to me about these people who work for technology corporations, who were targeted by Ted, but I'm confused about the entire movie in it's multi-lingual, topic skipping glory.

April 20th (bumbumBUMMM) blog
Ohhh, Bermuda Triangle strikes again.
An unmanned catamaran, which was found floating aimlessly at sea still had all computers and GPS systems running, as well as untensils for eating prepared on the table.
The difference between this catamaran and the Mary Celeste ghost ship is that the Kaz II had more technology to track it by. The Kaz II has, for one, a working GPS that was still running. We are more able to track its previous moves. We know where the Kaz II was before hand, so we are a little more knowledgable than the ancient Mary Celeste, which know little to nothing about.
The One Laptop Per Child is an interesting concept. After watching mass amounts of the discovery channel the other night, I've come to learn that a lot of these civilizations know how we live, but simple just choose to not live like the rest of the world. I can't be sure that if it is the case with this particular tribe, but it sure changes things. By this one piece of technology, you have planted an idea of a greater world for these children. Which in one case could be false hopes, but on the other hand may have just given those kids an idea to run with to aspire to. The only problem with these laptops is that they now have access to all this information, which in their culture and civilizations is slightly useless. I mean, really, ancient asian culture isn't going to squat for these kids. Then again, their academic schedual could be drastically different and fitted to suit their needs.

BBS - The fetal forum!
The bulletin board system was pretty much the ancient forum.
I like forums, but I lose interest very fast.
I belong to lots of female type forums.
One about geisha, when I was doing a 10 page research paper on them.
One about Hello Kitty.
I occasionally lurk around Lost forums and stuff.
Sorry I'm not quite hip enough to belong to Automotive Tech.
I like forums because it's a good way to get information. People have a lot of experience that you can't find on the internetz, but they will relay said information in forums.
I am an encyclopedia of Geisha information, now.
It's kind of sad.

Web 2.0 refers to a perceived second generation of Web-based services —such as social networking sites, wikis, communication tools that emphasize online collaboration and sharing among users.
I like Web 2.0. I have a customized google web 2.0ish homepage. I can check weather, movietimes AND people.com in one fell swoop! I've also used YouSendIt to send music files to people. I also have a last.fm, but I haven't really used that as a social networking thing, yet. I deleted my old one because I had really terrible music taste, andI just recently re-made it. I really only keep a last.fm so I can see what my most played tracks are and whatnot. I have a couple friends added to my last.fm but i never leave them messages or anything like Facebook. I use Pandora, too, when I can't find the song i want on Youtube.
I'm also debating getting a flickr account.
